This two-day workshop has been specifically designed to assist those persons who prepare or who respond to request for tender (RFTs) for design and construct (D&C) contracts. It is aimed at explaining the different variants, and the pros and cons of the D&C project delivery method. The workshop addresses traditional forms of D&C works (or construction) contracts and is suitable for clients or principals, contractors, subcontractors, construction industry consultants and project managers. It discusses the importance of accurately defining scope and the principal’s project requirements (or PPRs) and applies not only to head contracts but also D&C subcontract arrangements. The course also discusses some typical problems that can be encountered both pre and post award of contract that dilute the benefits of this form of project delivery. The workshop is supported by relevant case histories and exercise material.
